Lowering Cholesterol Naturally 

When you find out that you have raised cholesterol levels, it is easy to assume that you need to take some sort of medication. However, it is not always needed, there are a number of ways of lowering cholesterol naturally.

Lowering cholesterol naturally need not mean following a cranky diet, many common foods can be eaten to reduce cholesterol.

All foods that contain soluble fibre reduce cholesterol by binding it in the gut so that it cannot be absorbed into the blood stream. You can also help to lower your cholesterol by avoiding foods that stimulate the production of cholesterol by the body, mainly foods rich in animal fats and processed foods containing trans-fats.

But it is not just about what you do or don't eat. There are numerous causes of high cholesterol which need to be addressed. Lack of exercise, excess weight and smoking all contribute to raised cholesterol levels and lifestyle changes will need to be made if you are to be successful in lowering cholesterol naturally
